Project Overview
During the pandemic, the team at NeoPangea experimented with a variety of virtual meeting backgrounds as they dealt with privacy and sound pollution issues due to virtual meetings and the nature of their open office. This sparked an idea to bring the virtual world to reality through the construction of themed meeting pods, which would provide a unique solution to those issues while creating visually interesting and contextually stimulating meeting environments.
These pods were intended to create retreats for one or two people to meet virtually in a creative and interactive way. The irony is NeoPangea can already generate epic virtual background, but chose to go analog with “classic movie sets” and give the person in the meeting an even richer experience than the person viewing it on-screen.
Designed by NeoPangea and Burkey’s Custom Services division in a creative, collaborative process, each pod is based on a different movie: 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. The pods themselves and the interior detailing were fabricated and installed by Burkey. NeoPangea supplied the movie-themed props that added cinematic flair to each space.
